I was a primary and secondary educator, a dietitian, a nursing home administarator, a home care coordinator, a sales associate, a secretary, and a teller. 

     I have made my  community stronger through volunteerism:  tutoring teens and adults, managing religious organizations, working suicide prevention hot lines, running adoption support groups, leading Girl Scout troops, and teaching Mah Jongg.

     I thank my husband for his patience and understanding.  He became a "literary widower", as I devoted many hours to writing and left him to fend for himself for food, friendship, and socialization.  He and I lost countless nights of sleep as I wrote into the wee hours of the morning; the glare from my computer screen kept him awake.
